Welcome to the Burslem Arts & Crafts Festival
Saturday 10th May - 11am to 4pm

FREE event on Queen Street & St John's Square - supporting local creative people

The 6th Burslem Arts & Crafts Festival takes place on Saturday 10th May from 11am to 4pm on Queen Street and this time we are linking into the Axis Festival's Titanic Burslem Fringe to put on a bigger & much more exciting event.

** if you want to book a stall, complete the attached form and return it to festival@jellifish.co.uk - only £15 per stall **

The FREE day-time event on Saturday 10th May will include -

  • 40 arts & crafts stalls - on Queen Street & inside the School of Art - (bookings are now being taken - return the attached booking form to festival@jellifish.co.uk ASAP, only £15 per stall)
  • Live music & dance on the Titanic-sponsored stage - St John's Square - a number of exciting live acts already booked to perform multicultural folk-dancing workshop - the George Hotel - 11.30am to 1pm - free
  • Singing workshop - School of Art - 11.30 to 1pm - free
  • Hands-on performing street art - Queen Street - throughout the day (artist bookings are now being taken - email festival@jellifish.co.uk)
  • Salsa class - School of Art - 12.30pm to 2pm - free
  • Throw-a-pot workshops to get your hands dirty - Queen Street - throughout the day
  • Song-writing workshop with former The La's & Cast frontman John Power - 1.30pm to 4pm, School of Art - free (£5 advance deposit refunded on the day - for tickets, see below)
  • The BIG PAINT - local artist Rob Pointon will be working with up to 25 local artists to work on A1-size canvases to paint a part of one of Rob's own pieces of work in their own style which will recreate the painting as a huge montage of images - £10 per artist (but artists booking a stall can take part for FREE) - workshop to take place in the morning - further details of this workshop on request
  • Plus fairground rides, face-painting, balloon-modelling, belly-dancing, bouncy castle, and lots, lots more
  • The festival is FREE with FREE parking at Port Vale FC, Burslem Enterprise Centre on Moorland Road or the former Kwik Save (entrance off Nile St)

The Burslem Arts & Crafts Festival is part of the larger Titanic Burslem Fringe event which lasts for FOUR days with live music & workshops from Thursday 8th through to Sunday 11th May.

  • Thursday 8th May - John Lindley - creative writing workshop - 7pm, Burslem School of Art - £5 (£3 concessions)
  • Friday 9th May - Nancy Kerr & James Fagan - live folk music - 8pm, The Leopard Hotel - £10 (£7.50 concessions)
  • Friday 9th May - Mike Silver - songwriting & guitar workshop - 1.30pm to 4pm, The George Hotel - free (£5 advance deposit refunded on the day)
  • Saturday 10th May - live headline act - JOHN POWER - 7.30pm, The Leopard Hotel - £6 advance booking
  • Saturday 10th May - Elvis Fontenot & the Sugar Bees + Loud Mouth Women - 7.30pm, The George Hotel - £10 inc. pie & pint supper AND Cajun workshop (Burslem residents can take a utility bill to the School of Art on Queen St to get discounted tickets at £8.50
  • Sunday 11th May - Harvey Andrews & Ruth Notman - live folk music - 7.30pm, The Leopard Hotel - £10
